Invitations

Passports for a Jungle Safari – Make your invitations look like a passport through your wild jungle.

Decorations

Bamboo and greenery work well for this theme. If you have a lot of plants around your house, start with them. Have stuffed animals or rubber snakes popping out of them. You can also give the effect of greenery by hanging green streamers around the room along with some balloons. You can use bright colored balloons and group them together to look like flowers. You could also make a small balloon column to look like a flower or tree.

Animal prints will of course also compliment your theme. You can add them in by using table cloths with animal prints or animal print bandanas to set your centerpiece on.  Outside use sidewalk chalk to draw animal footprints leading up to your house.

Food

Bug Sandwiches – Make sub sandwiches to look like bugs or wild reptiles.

Ants on a Log – Celery with peanut butter and raisins on top.

Dirt Deserts - Fill small cups up with smashed up oreo cookies, mixed with gummy worms and candy rocks. Or you can serve ice cream topped with oreo crumbs and gummy worms.

Trail Mix – A mixture of Cheerios, raisins, M&Ms, mini marshmallows, Chex cereal, pretzels, or whatever you would like to throw together.

Bug Juice – Any kind of punch.

Stuffed Ice Cubes – You can freeze gummy worms or raisins (for bugs) in you ice cubes.

Fruit Salad – Cut up a watermelon or cantaloupe to look like a bug's face or body and stuff it's mouth with fruit.

Games & Activities

Safari Hunt – Have your guests go on a hunt for jungle animals. You can buy a bag of them at Wal-Mart for 88 cents. Hid the animals around the party area and provide your guests with small bags to hold their animals in. Then send them off finding as many lost animals as they can.

Make your own Jungle Animal - Have your guests make up a new jungle animals and create them by using different craft supplies. You could let the kids use: foam, paper, rocks, beads, pipe cleaners, pom-poms, yarn, or whatever else that you can find. Kids could find ways to use almost anything.
